ORGANIGRAM OF PF Nash Vek:
Address by the Director of the Our Century Foundation Aitbayeva Chinara
Dear friends, colleagues, like-minded people,
If you are reading this appeal, then most likely you are interested in the activities of the Public Foundation “Our Century” (hereinafter referred to as PF Our Century). Our organization was created in 2001. Our mission, in short: “We promote sustainable development” through information, education, monitoring and lobbying. “We promote active citizens (free, critical and creative thinkers) to participate in world/global processes” so that their voice is heard to protect public, country, and regional interests.
Currently, the strategic directions of PF Our Century are:
– Promotion of sustainable development,
– Monitoring of external assistance.
As part of the “Promoting Sustainable Development” direction, we promote an Enabling Environment for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). After all, without a strong, competent and free-thinking civil society, sustainable development is impossible. Unfortunately, CSOs in Kyrgyzstan are facing unprecedented stigma, devaluation, and pressure from the authorities and the creators of fake factories.
Our plans are to promote sustainable development according to all SDG goals (https://sustainabledevelopment-kyrgyzstan.github.io/) For this we are forming teams (https://forms.gle/yBW6oKytAZZTQpeAA).
As part of the “Monitoring of External Assistance” direction, we coordinate the External Assistance Monitoring Group (hereinafter referred to as GMVP), which includes about 15 active concerned citizens (GMVP on the path of expansion. According to the Regulations/Strategy of GMVP, each active expert of GMVP can additionally attract other interested citizens to monitor on a voluntary basis. https://forms.gle/fkYta6hd39CKLKrn7 If two current members support the new ones, then at the next meeting of the GMVP, it is protocolally decided to include the activist in the GMVP).
SMVP monitors external assistance (loans, grants and technical assistance received by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic). External debt falls on every citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic. The debt is paid from the country’s budget. The budget is formed from our taxes. Every citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic should know what money is taken for, how it is used and where it is spent.
Every request to a government agency for one or another foreign assistance project encourages the government agency to work transparently and efficiently. After all, they are beginning to understand that they are being monitored, they are being tracked, and they must be accountable to the public.
