Representatives of the Our Century PF took part in the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR 2025), organized by the Swiss government and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) at the invitation of the Global Network of Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Risk Reduction (GNDR), which was held in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 2 to 6, 2025.
Also actively participated in the global workshop “Localization of early warning systems and proactive action through CSOs: from local voices to global commitments”, which took place at Impact Hub Geneve – Lausanne SA, 1 Rue Fendt, Geneva, 1201 Switzerland, June 5, 2025 from 9:00 to 13:30.
During the seminar, group work was carried out.
During the seminar, we had to tell a story about an early warning system for various risks and disasters. We told a story about border conflicts that occurred in Kyrgyzstan several years ago, modeled as a story for better understanding by workshop participants.
We had to highlight the innovations, obstacles and life experiences that shaped these systems.
What can we learn from this story and how can we apply it in conflict zones?
Workshop participants in groups noted “Innovations”, “Obstacles”, “Life Experiences” and answered the questions: “What works?”, “Why?”, “What’s new?”, “What’s missing?”, “What will you take with you for future work in policy, advocacy and/or practice?”
The participants enjoyed the seminar and had a clear picture of possible situations and conflicts at the border, as well as possible solutions.
