PF “Our Century” attended the presentation of the study PF “Initiative for the Preservation of Natural Heritage “Archa” on eco-equality and socio-ecological inequality entitled “Eco-equality=a tree for everyone”.
“Archa” presented the results of a study on the accessibility of green spaces to Bishkek residents; temperature indicators of Bishkek; dust indicators. Told in detail about environmental benefits (formation of a microclimate, lowering the temperature on hot days, humidifying the air and protecting from dust, reducing noise levels), about social outlets (positive impact on emotions, creation of recreational urban areas, increasing the level of communication among citizens) and economic benefits (creating conditions for business in a pedestrian area, reducing energy consumption in buildings) trees and green spaces.
“Archa” believes that the presence and accessibility of green spaces are important for the formation of the microclimate and the trend of dense urban development leads to epidemiological risks given the current population density. “Archa” plans to study the status of lands that are still available for landscaping; gave recommendations and telephone numbers for requests for help in landscaping areas. We also recalled that March 28, 2020 was declared National Tree Planting Day this year; that when planting trees the principle of tiering must be observed.
The participants were representatives of residential areas of Bishkek, representatives of foreign embassies, and representatives of NGOs.
A representative also spoke at the presentation “Zherdev Garden” with information about the nursery.
“Archa” told where, how and what trees are best to plant in different areas of Bishkek.
