We, caring citizens of Kyrgyzstan,
We address the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Japarov,
Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic K.K. Tashiev,
Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Zulushev K.T.
We demand the immediate release of women activists and public figures detained on trumped-up charges of preparing a violent seizure of power.
We know women activists as active, concerned citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, each of them contributes to the development of civil society, protects human rights and public interests.
We believe that during the meeting of the Committee for the Defense of Kempir-Abad, the participants spoke exclusively about a peaceful rally. A peaceful assembly is non-violent and non-armed in nature.
Government agencies are obliged to respect and ensure the right to freedom of peaceful assembly without any distinction based on religion, political or other beliefs, or any circumstances and not to interfere with the achievement of the goals of the assembly.
According to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, every citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic has the right to association, including the right to create committees, unions, etc. to protect their own and public interests on a voluntary basis.
The events that have happened and the actions of the country’s leadership can lead to a split in society, civil clashes based on their beliefs, and damage to the country’s image in the international community. In the current situation, urgent consensus and dialogue between the authorities and civil society are needed before it is too late.
We demand an end to political persecution in fabricated criminal cases!
We demand to maintain stability in Kyrgyzstan!
We demand that the rights of accused citizens be respected!
We demand the urgent release of women activists!
We hope that reason will prevail and a decision will be made to urgently release the accused!
