Asia-Pacific Regional Consultation on the 2027 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR)

November 5-6 in Incheon (Songdo), Republic of Korea took place Asia-Pacific Regional Consultation on the 2027 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR).

The discussions and results of this meeting will contribute to UN Global Sustainable Development Report 2027 (GSDR) , which will be presented at 2027 Sustainable Development Goals Summit (SDG Summit) .

The regional consultation for Asia and the Pacific will be the first regional consultation to underpin the 2027 report process and aims to bring together the Independent Panel of Scientists recently appointed by the UN Secretary-General.

The GSDR was prepared at the request of UN Member States to strengthen the science-policy interface and provide evidence-based advice on global sustainable development, as well as the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs. The presentation of the report will take place at UN headquarters in New York at the SDG Summit in September 2027.

Civil society was represented by the international network of CSOs APRCEM.

Representatives of the Nash Vek PF took part in regional consultations as representatives of CSOs.

Representatives of the Public Foundation Our Century spoke as speakers in the panel discussion.

Also, in the group work, we suggested that the report should note:

  • reduction of indicators in the VNR reports of countries reporting on SDGs;
  • The importance of mentioning countries’ debt is that many developing countries in the global south are experiencing peaks in external debt payments. And instead of using money for sustainable development, countries have to pay off debts. Achieving sustainable development remains a big question mark.
